Internships

The Women’s Growth Center offers internship opportunities for graduate students who are at the end of their clinical training. We eagerly welcome student applicants from a wide variety of institutions and professional training backgrounds. We are able to be flexible to meet many diverse program needs. Historically, our interns have thrived within an extended internship model (working fewer hours per week for a longer time frame, September-July or June-April, for example), building skills by working directly with clients, engaging in an hour of weekly supervision, and working as an equal member in our Monday night collective meeting to glean practice management experience. The extended time frame helps to minimize any gaps in our services to our clients, and provides the intern with a more in-depth direct therapy experience. However, we are open to variations (including hosting an intern who wishes to work at multiple sites) that will meet the needs of a qualified candidate. We are looking for candidates who have a strong interest in and/or have experience working from a feminist and relational/cultural perspective. Please note that we are unable to accommodate any type of recording of sessions.

We begin reviewing applications in January and interview potential candidates as early as February for the upcoming internship year. If you are interested in applying for an internship position, please send us a cover letter and résumé.
